Hey everyone, I’ve spent hours this evening searching for ideas on how to get the most out of strength training workouts, and I’m hearing a lot about papaya. Among many other helpful nutrients, it has an enzyme called papain that digests protein and reduces inflammation… sounds like it’s very helpful for reducing muscle soreness and helping in building muscle as well.

Anyway, to make a long story short (too late!) I was wondering if anyone has advice on where/how to buy fresh papaya? I’m near a big city and would be willing to go to specific ethnic grocery stores if the freshness or price is significantly better. I’m going to try some ASAP to make sure I like it, but I’m a bit daunted by the $3 price tag at the local store.

Ooh, nommy!

Peanut butter lovers, brace yourselves!
I’ve always been a peanut butter lover.  99% of the lunches I made for myself in school consisted of a classic PB sandwich.  I would literally eat it with a spoon as a snack.  As I became more health-conscious, however, I freaked out a little bit at the nutritional information — So many calories, so many grams of fat!!  Well, PB lovers, I found a solution.
Allow my to introduce you to Bell Plantation’s PB2 peanut butter.  It’s just like normal peanut butter, but has been pressed to remove the oil (ie fat, extra calories).  No artificial flavours, sweeteners or preservatives.  Just add water and mix it up.
2 tablespoons powder = 45 caloriesFat: 1.5g, Carbs: 5g, Protein: 5g
(I know, right??)

where do you get this magical peanut butter?

I need to get this!

WHY WON’T THEY SHIP THIS TO MY COUNTRY?!?! I WANT TO PUNCH SOMEONE.

I need to get some of this! I do recommend checking amazon.com - NOT for buying, but for the reviews, just to get an idea of what people have to say about it. But as a peanut butter junkie, I think this could be a pretty amazing product for me…

Healthy Eating Tip: Cut back on red meat, which can be really high in saturated fat and cholesterol, and go for chicken (or fish) instead. Look for sales at the grocery store on boneless skinless chicken breast then stock up and keep it in your freezer. When you’re ready to eat it, just thaw and cook it. Pair it with some freshly steamed veggies and you’ll save calories, fat, and money!
